Dr. Richard Miller, O.D. has led Vision Health Eyecare since 1993. He has grown the business with the idea that “what is good for the patient, is good for the practice.” As the business grew from a single employee to a large staff with refined duties and responsibilities, Dr. Miller has delegated more of the clerical duties to his staff so he can spend more quality time with his patients.
Dr. Miller graduated with honors from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1987. He is a past president of the Milwaukee Optometric Society and is a career long member of the Wisconsin chapter of the American Optometric Association. He enjoys music, golf, and travel with his family. He occasionally lives vicariously through the academic and athletic exploits of his children.
Optometric Assistants / Opticians
We have embraced the idea of making our patient’s eye care experience a seamless process. Central to that idea is having well-trained optometric assistants and opticians. Each day our team of optical technicians are assigned patients that they will care for during that day. This staff member is responsible for guiding you through your eye care experience from start to finish. Your assistant will review your eye care history and lead you through some preliminary testing prior to seeing the doctor.

During your visit with the doctor, this staff member will assist the doctor and be there with you to make sure that we have taken care of your concerns and eye care needs. If you need any type of eye wear your assistant will offer expert guidance to best fit your needs.

Our friendly team at the front desk has been preparing for your visit well before they welcome you to our office. They have made sure that all of your information is current and have arranged for you to receive a phone, e-mail or text reminder of your pending appointment. If you are using insurance for your visit our front desk staff has contacted your insurance company to help determine your benefits.
If you have previously visited us, our front desk staff will forward your clinical information to the doctor and technical staff for their review. Let our front desk staff know if you have any special needs or considerations and they will be happy to accommodate.
Insurance and Clerical
Many of your health care choices depend, in part on some form of insurance coverage. Eye care insurances can be sometimes confusing and difficult to understand. Our insurance specialists can help make sure that you are using your benefits properly.
They will act as a liaison to gather the appropriate information needed by the insurer, our office, and you. Our insurance specialists work hard to make sure that all parties involved in an insurance transaction are living up to their responsibilities.
In 2011 Vision Health made the decision to go paperless. In order to do so, we depend on many different forms of technology for both our record keeping, as well as your examination. We use different computers, scanners, tablets, and instruments to give you a comprehensive, modern examination. We are fortunate to have a highly knowledgable IT expert on staff who has keeps our computers, network, practice management software, and website functioning well.
