Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration, if left untreated, can rob you of your central vision. Early detection, close monitoring, and treatment may help avoid permanent vision loss.

Cataracts are caused by clouding of the lens inside of the eye, and tend to occur later in life.
While not harmful to your health, cataracts can cause serious vision loss. They are usually successfully treated through surgery.

Glaucoma is a disease that damages the optic nerve. It can lead to permanent eye damage, which leads to defects in vision. Common risk factors are elevated eye pressure, family history of glaucoma, and being over the age of 60.

Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions in the US. Untreated or uncontrolled diabetes can lead to retinal swelling and bleeding, which can lead to blindness. If you’re diabetic, make sure you are visiting Dr. Miller at least once a year to check for any eye-related diabetic manifestations.

Dry Eye

Dry eye is an under-diagnosed medical condition. It can cause blurred vision, eye discomfort, redness, and difficulty with night driving. It can also cause damage to the front part of the eye, the cornea, if left untreated. There are many over-the-counter and prescription medications to help alleviate symptoms.
